DIGITAL FULL-ARCH IMPRESSIONS FOR IMMEDIATE AND FINAL PROSTHESES. SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE THE ACCURACY

During this event a seminar with demonstration about digital full-arch impressions and bite registrations will be presented by Prof. Vygandas Rutkūnas, where he will share his newest research findings (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=rutkunas+digital+impressions&sort=date ) and clinical experience.

Seminar program:

The digital impressions for the full-arch cases can produce a variety of the results – from perfect to very disappointing. The patient-, device-, and operator-related factors come into play and should be carefully managed. Several important decisions have to be made: the digital workflow type, strategy, scanning pattern, and scanning procedure implementation has to be decided. Intraoral scanner (IOS) and scan body selection can influence the accuracy results. Intraoral and extraoral photogrammetry devices can be used to further increase the accuracy. However, it should not be forgotten, that besides the registration of the scan body positions, the accurate bite registration should be achieved. For simplifying the workflow the implant verification jig and control model can be utilized. For effective managing of all above mentioned factors, the TFW (Total Fit Workflows) concept was introduced. It helps to address the most critical aspect in full-arch implant planning, and digital and analogue registrations for ensuring the passive fit and occlusal accuracy of temporary and final prostheses. During the demonstration, the main aspects of TFW approach in improving the accuracy of full-arch digital impression will be addressed.
